History
Suzuki began as a small weaving loom manufacturer in 1909 in the small village of Hamamatsu, Japan. Founded by Michio Suzuki, the company began to focus on the production of motorcycles in 1952 and quickly gained popularity in Japan and abroad. By the 1960s, Suzuki had become the world’s largest manufacturer of small cars and motorcycles.
In 1981, Suzuki launched the world's first four-wheel drive car, the Suzuki SJ410. This car was well received by the public and helped establish Suzuki as a leader in four-wheel drive vehicles. In the 1990s, Suzuki launched the popular Vitara SUV and Swift hatchback, both of which were well received.
