Congratulations to Broad Arrow for setting a pace at The Zoute Concours sale that carried the room swiftly toward its destination – the lot that was the most important of the entire auction.

I must say the idea was very clever: on average a lot is hammered in three minutes, while the more expensive ones can run well beyond ten. This time the more modestly priced lots (and we are still talking about cars above €100,000) were knocked down in roughly ninety seconds on average, enough to move all 82 lots through in just 244 minutes without a moment of tedium.

Now the numbers: lots offered were slightly more than in 2025 (when there were 75), and 72 were sold. A fine result compared with 58 sales last year (+24%). Worth noting, however, is that the number of cars offered without reserve jumped from 23 to 39 – almost half the catalogue. The financial result was equally strong: €26.2 million last year against €32,842,125 this year (+25%). Amid all this upheaval, the average price appears remarkably unmoved: €456,141 against €451,843 in 2025.
