MAUTO, the National Automobile Museum of Turin, is one of the world’s most prestigious reference points for automotive culture. Its collaboration with Roarington now makes it possible to take a further step forward, opening up to a digital experience that does not replace the physical museum, but enhances it-transforming the visit into an immersive journey through the evolution of the automobile. Thanks to ultra–high-definition 3D scanning technology, each vehicle selected by MAUTO is recreated in the virtual showroom as an extremely faithful digital twin, capable of reproducing materials, surfaces, curves, and even the smallest imperfections of the original car. This level of accuracy enables something that, for conservation reasons, is not possible during a physical visit: direct, unfiltered exploration of the vehicle.
In Roarington’s digital world, visitors can interact with the car-opening the doors, lifting the hood to admire the engine up close. The experience culminates in the possibility of entering the cockpit, virtually sitting in the driver’s seat, and grasping the true perception of space, instrumentation, and the ergonomics conceived at the time. Legendary models such as the 1952 Alfa Romeo Disco Volante, the 1953 Lancia D24, and the experimental 1954 Fiat Turbina thus gain a new depth: they are no longer merely on display, but fully analyzable in every detail. Every line can be studied and understood in its historical context; every engineering solution can be grasped because it is finally observable up close and from any angle.
Together with MAUTO, Roarington offers a new form of historical storytelling-engaging, sensory, and personal-where passion for the automobile meets the potential of digital technology.
