British auction house ACA presented a variety of cars perfect for summer holidays, with an average selling price of ÂŁ7,279. Highlights include a limited edition Mazda MX-5 Monaco, a 1977 Jimini Moke kit car, a Land Rover 109" Hi-Capacity, a 1990 Toyota Land Cruiser, a 1998 Peugeot 106 GTI, a 1989 Skoda Rapid, a 1993 Range Rover Vogue SE, a 1950 Chevrolet 3100 Stepside pickup, a Ford Transit that seats 15, a 1989 Bedford Danbury caravan, a 1963 Morris Mini MkI, a 1973 Alfa Romeo 2000 GT Veloce, and a 1972 Morris Minor Van. Of 236 lots, 209 sold for a total of ÂŁ1,521,414.18/06/2022

Bonhams Greenwich. The key to success
Bonhams achieved a successful American auction in Greenwich, with over 80% of cars sold without reserve, resulting in 95% of sales and an average price per car of $105,761. The top lot was a 1929 Bentley 4 1/2 litre Tourer that sold for $604,500. Two Jaguar XK120s sold below estimates, with the coupe selling for $85,120 and the roadster selling for $66,080. The sale also featured a replica 1966 Fiat 500 Jolly that sold for $89,600, and a collection of four Facel-Vegas that performed well. A 1981 Porsche 911 SC Coupe also caught the writer's attention.14/06/2022

How do you find gold? Historics and Silverstone show how
Auction houses Silverstone and Historics had different profiles for two different types of cars, with 77 and 79 cars sold respectively. Silverstone aimed high, netting £6,813,765 (€7,831,055) in takings with an average sale price of £88,490 (€101,700), while Historics took home £2,712,991 (€3,118,038) or £34,341 (€39,468) per car. Lady Diana's 1985 Ford Escort RS Turbo S1 was sold for £722,500 (€825,000), while a 1998 22B STI went to its new owner for £182,250. An Audi RS2 sold for £75,938 and a 1966 230SL Pagoda that once belonged to Stirling Moss sold for £177,750 (€204,000). The most interesting car was the 1974 Lamborghini Espada S3, sold for £83,768 (€96,155).09/06/2022
Historics and Silverstone: investment opportunities
The British auctions in May by Historics and Silverstone offered affordable prices and opportunities. A Subaru Impreza P1 set a record by selling for double its estimate, while a 458 Italia was sold for almost half the price of a 458 Speciale. McLaren MP4-12C and hot hatches reached high prices compared to market averages. The last Cooper S Mini sold at Silverstone set a new record. Historics sold 74.48% of 192 cars and generated ÂŁ4,943,581 turnover, while Silverstone sold 48 lots out of 86 and generated ÂŁ3,557,783 turnover with higher average prices.04/06/2022
