October is packed with events for classic car enthusiasts, offering a chance to enjoy the thrill of motorsports before winter arrives. The first weekend kicks off with the Zoute Grand Prix in Belgium, featuring a three-day rally culminating today, October 6, with a Bonhams auction, which will be reviewed by Cliff Goodall on Roarington.com. Also happening from October 4-6 are two other major events: the Estoril Classics in Portugal, which delivered the final races of the classic racing series created by Patrick Peter, and across the ocean, the Audrain Newport Concours in Rhode Island, featuring a tour d'elegance, a cars & coffee gathering, and another Bonhams auction.
From October 6-11, the Modena Cento Ore combines historic cars, iconic circuits like Mugello and Misano, hill climbs in Tuscany and Emilia, breathtaking scenery, fine food, and relaxation. The competition will be intense, with track races and hill climbs on closed roads. There are two categories: Speed, with all the regulations in place, and Regularity, which offers the same route and circuits but at a more measured pace.
The action returns to Italy from October 11-13 with the Alfa Revival Cup at Mugello. This event is dedicated to Alfa Romeo GT and Turismo cars built between 1947 and 1981, set against the backdrop of Tuscany's rolling hills and charming villages, as gentlemen drivers compete fiercely.
From October 18-20, head to the fantastic Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, for the Masters Racing Legends event, celebrating the golden era of Formula 1 with cars built between 1966 and 1985. It coincides with the 2024 United States Grand Prix, where fans can also witness a battle between Lando Norris and Max Verstappen for the World Championship title.
The month wraps up with Auto e Moto d’Epoca in Bologna from October 24-27, Europe’s largest event for classic cars and parts. Collectors and enthusiasts will have the opportunity to browse over 5,000 vehicles on display, find original spare parts, and explore automobilia from various brands and price ranges. The event also celebrates the history and culture of motorsports, with the Motor Valley area showcasing the past, present, and future of the automotive world.
