Goodwood. The good choice
Bonhams auction at the 79th Members’ Meeting in Goodwood achieved an 85.14% success rate, selling 63 out of 74 cars on offer for a total of £6,791,025 (€8,193,915). The top lot was a 1964 Aston Martin DB5 that needed complete restoration, estimated at £280,000-£350,000 but eventually sold for £506,000 (€610,530). Another highlight was a 1961 Aston Martin DB4 Competition Saloon, estimated at £160,000-£200,000 but sold for £235,750 (€286,865). A 1937 SS Jaguar 2 1/2 litre Saloon sold for £35,650 (€43,015) against an estimate of £20,000-£30,000.

Barrett-Jackson and RM Sotheby’s in Florida. Those without reserve win

Mecum mocks the online auctions
Mecum's recent Glendale auction sold 925 cars for over $60 million, a significant increase from last year's event. Artcurial doubles: another top European auction
Artcurial's recent car auction saw a return to pre-pandemic levels, with 132 out of 167 cars being sold and sales totaling €36,108,002 ($39,604,340). The most expensive car, a 1996 Ferrari F50, sold for €4,161,600 ($4,564,567), followed by a Ferrari Enzo for €2,846,000 ($ 3,121,578), and an ex-works Porsche 907 for €4,390,400 ($4,815,522). Other notable sales included Alain Delon's 3.5 V8 Range Rover, which sold for €95,360 ($104,593), and a Harley Davidson Softail Heritage that belonged to Johnny Hallyday, which sold for €470,840 ($516,431).
