The 2025 edition of the Red Bull Ring Classics welcomed over 200 classic cars from different eras and no less than 258 participants in the Roarington Virtual Racing Challenge to win the iconic Glass Bull Trophy. An impressive 17,500 spectators filled the stands for a true journey through motorsport history: 8 series delivered 15 races, ranging from the racing Alfa Romeos of the Alfa Revival Cup and the Porsche Classic Cup to single-seaters and Rally Legends.

The event also provided an opportunity to chat with former official drivers such as Christian Danner, who raced with Alfa Romeo in the DTM and ITC during the 1990s, and Karl Wendlinger, who brought the Sauber Mercedes C11 back on track for a few demonstration laps. Wendlinger drove this car in the early '90s as part of the Mercedes junior program in the 1990 and 1991 Sports Prototype Championship.

Roarington enhanced the show by offering enthusiasts the chance to experience the thrill of driving via simulators developed in collaboration with Pininfarina and Zagato — letting fans step into the virtual shoes of a racing driver. The competition was real: 162 participants battled for the best lap time on a precisely recreated digital version of the Red Bull Ring, driving a 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190E Evo II.

Roarington at the Red Bull Ring Classics 2025 - 3 Not only challenges on the track, but also in the paddock thanks to the Roarington simulators that welcomed 258 participants to the race for the best lap time.

The winner who took home the Glass Bull trophy from Roarington, clocked an impressive time of 1:42:851, just 59 thousandths ahead of the runner-up, demonstrating how close the competition was even virtually. A weekend of real passion, in the paddock and on the grandstands. Many children and young people were also fascinated by these wonderful machines that made automotive history. In other words, the past comes alive in the present through events like the Red Bull Ring Classics and projects into the future thanks to Roarington’s digital platform.
