The 1000 Miglia, the great circuits, the classic cars certified to compete in the "most beautiful race in the world," and the authentic Digital Twins of automobiles that entered legend through their victories — these form the heart of the MAUTO Roarington Experience Space, open today to visitors at the celebrated Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile. In the Museum's spectacular entrance area, the permanent Roarington Experience Space installation offers the chance to take the wheel of two sophisticated simulators — one in Pininfarina green, one in Zagato red — for a genuinely immersive experience. Born from an idea by Benedetto Camerana, architect and President of Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile, the MAUTO Roarington Experience Space was developed in collaboration with Roarington and designed by media artist and designer Nik Hafermaas. The installation rests on an innovative concept that reaches beyond conventional driving simulation: the experience is built around the principles of peripheral vision, with content generated and processed in real time that responds dynamically to the act of driving. Through a system of LED columns surrounding the area, the environment becomes an advanced perceptual platform, amplifying the sensation of movement and immersion and drawing in not only the person at the wheel but the audience watching each driving session.
