Let me ask you something today: in a couple of days, the first quarter of the year will close — and how many affordable cars have you seen in my “travels” so far? Truthfully, very few. The reason is simple enough to explain: this beginning of the year has been breathtaking, saturated with million-dollar cars that have shattered record after record. And while a record or a ten-million-euro car makes the headlines, there are hundreds of other cars at those very same auctions that change hands quietly — often at genuinely interesting prices.
So I went looking — moving from one auction to another — for cars that, despite sitting below the 100,000 € threshold, were worth considerably more than what they cost. Interesting, really.
