There is one word that can serve as a reference point for the Ferrari of today. That word is consistency. Looking at the Maranello company in 2026, the first thing one discovers is a Formula 1 operation that, from the very first day of pre-season testing in Barcelona, demonstrated a clear and confident reading of the complex rules imposed by the new regulations in force this year. The car proved itself immediately – solid, reliable, and, no small thing in the most advanced reaches of Formula 1 research, a carrier of innovations designed to extract the maximum from the opportunities the regulations allow. Ferrari adopts a smaller turbocharger than those fitted by rival engine suppliers such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and Red Bull Ford, with the goal of superior efficiency from the outset. The results are immediately apparent. Mindful of the importance of getting the most from aerodynamics, the team devised a system based on a regulatory interpretation that uses exhaust gases to generate greater downforce at the rear. It also created a rotating rear wing that, by flipping completely within the time limit prescribed by the regulations, makes car behaviour significantly more effective on both entry and exit through corners.
