It is still the famous Ralph Lauren that leads the ranking of the top 100 collectors 2024/2025. The Key is the only publication in the world that holds data on the composition of each of the great collections, data kept absolutely confidential, of course, through which an initial hierarchy can be drawn up based on the values of each individual collection. This initial ranking is joined by other evaluation tools such as the cultural aspects of each case and the results obtained at major international events, and others that lead to a final score that is published.
This is the second consecutive time that the collection of the great American designer has excelled. Before him it was the turn of Miles Collier, Frank Simeone - also Americans - and the Dutchman Evert Louwman. The many pages dedicated to the Ranking are of great interest and give insight into who are the personalities, or their heirs, who hold a billion-dollar fortune. The new edition of The Key, Top of the Classic Car World, also subdivides the hundred collectors according to numerous parameters, which are very interesting to learn about. To name but one, the hierarchy of the countries where the collections are located: dominating, as historically ascertained, is the United States, which alone houses 56 per cent of the collections.
It is also very interesting to discover which car brands are most represented in the one hundred collections: absolute supremacy for Ferrari, the most present both in number and in value, followed by Porsche and Mercedes. Reading and looking at the analytical graphs gives an extraordinary picture of how the passion for classic cars is drawn by this valuable study. There are also many curiosities: among them the discovery of new entries. Certainly the most interesting, due to his young age and the historical value of his collection of Grand Prix single-seaters, is Mark Mateschitz. The Austrian, son of the brilliant creator of the RedBull phenomenon, has united the great collection carefully preserved by Bernie Ecclestone with the Scuderia's single-seaters which, in recent decades, have collected no less than 14 Formula 1 World Championship titles, between Drivers and Constructors. Another important new entry, considering the presence of its brand in the world of collectibles, is Richard Mile, who takes a prestigious fifteenth place.
Our Newsletter and communications on the Roarington.com website are, week after week, presenting the many interesting and unmissable stories published in The Key 2024/2025. Without a shadow of a doubt, the big chapter on Ranking is an attraction not to be missed.
