Company

Morgan Motor Company is a British motor car manufacturer established in 1910 by Henry Frederick Stanley Morgan. The company is known for their unusual cars that was made from using wood for framing the body shell and for sporting or “sports car” performance, due to their extremely low weight. The company is also notable for their three-wheeler sports cars most notably the Morgan 3-Wheeler.

History

It is currently owned by the Italian investment group, Investindustrial. The company is headquartered in Malvern Link, which is a part of Malvern, and employs around 220 people.

The company has a unique production approach, as they hand-assemble every single car they produce. In a year, Morgan produces approximately 850 cars, and due to their high demand and production limitations, there is often a waiting list of around six months for a new car. At times, this waitlist has even extended to ten years.

Morgan cars stand out from their competitors in that they have utilized wood in their construction for over a century, and the company continues to incorporate wood in the framing of their car bodies in the 21st century. This is an unusual aspect of car manufacturing, as most vehicles are made primarily of metal and other materials.

The company's visitor center and museum offer an immersive experience into the history of the company from the Edwardian era to the present day, highlighting the evolution of automobile technology and showcasing a collection of automobiles. Additionally, visitors can take guided tours of the factory to observe the hand-crafting process of these distinctive cars.
