History books will define these years as the era of the First Digital Revolution. First, because just twenty years ago, the first mobile phones with cameras became part of our lives, and now, in just a few months, we have stepped into the vast world of the metaverse and the opportunities of artificial intelligence. These realms open new horizons, even for passions like those of Roarington, offering ever more surprising opportunities for vintage car enthusiasts. Roarington's innovative platform, soon to feature digital humans—true companions with human expressions and motivations—allows users to explore and discover rare car models in detail, meet the world of collectors, and stay informed about stories and news from the classic car universe.
2024 has seen the continued growth of Roarington, both in terms of innovations and a steady increase in visitors, as well as major agreements with partners who have recognized its development potential. Among these is Mercedes-Benz, with its classic division, which is preparing the introduction of its own museum in digital form within Roarington's automobile metaland.
Let’s take a journey through these 12 months:
In January, at the heart of Davos during the dynamic discussions of the World Economic Forum, Roarington presented its lively virtual ecosystem of vintage cars. Collaborating with Digital Switzerland, Roarington not only showcased its iconic simulators but also added a touch of sophistication to the economic and technological dialogues shaping the future. While discussions about defining a sustainable tomorrow were ongoing, Roarington’s digital classic cars stood as a testament to timeless design celebrated without environmental impact.
In March, Mercedes-Benz demonstrated its keen eye on the future by opening the doors of the new Classic Center in Fellbach, near Stuttgart, to a special Roarington simulator. This one-of-a-kind simulator, based on the "Pininfarina Sportiva" and inspired by the iconic Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing, number "417", which won its Grand Touring class at its debut in the 1955 Mille Miglia and was fifth overall, now allows visitors to experience a unique virtual racing adventure. They can drive the Gullwing on famous tracks and roads under the motto "Heritage Creates the Future".
In May 2024, the prestigious Coppa delle Alpi became a kind of traveling seminar for the first time in its history. Ten out of forty cars, driven by notable figures, shared insights through social media and digital channels about the extraordinary Alpine arc. The Liechtenstein stage offered participants and audiences a glimpse of the new horizons presented by Roarington, whose pulsating core is located in Vaduz.
June was packed with major events for Roarington. Among them was the Supercar Owners Circle (SOC) held in the exclusive setting of The Chedi Hotel in Andermatt, Switzerland. Here, in a luxurious lounge, Zagato and Pininfarina simulators allowed participants to test their driving skills on various tracks with special classic cars like the iconic Porsche 550. It was an opportunity for SOC members to challenge themselves and enhance their driving experience.
Also in June, Roarington brought excitement to the Solitude Revival with a Mercedes-Benz simulator inspired by the 300 SL Gullwing number 417, which won its class at the 1955 Mille Miglia. This was a tribute to the golden age of motorsport, featuring three days of action both on and off the track.
June continued with Roarington simulators stealing the show at two major events: the Red Bull Ring Classics in Austria on the Spielberg Formula 1 circuit and the prestigious 1000 Miglia 2024 in Brescia, Italy. At the Red Bull Ring Classics, enthusiasts raced against time, refining their skills on the "Sportiva" and "Elio Z" simulators, designed by Pininfarina and Zagato, for 1,700 minutes of adrenaline-filled action over the weekend. In Brescia, at the exclusive JP Morgan lounge, fans and participants prepared for the grueling 5-day 1000 Miglia marathon with intensive simulation sessions totaling 1,500 minutes.
The MAUTO, Turin's Automobile Museum, believed in Roarington from the start, with a permanent virtual exhibition on the platform. In July, the collaboration continued with the presence of simulators during the exhibition dedicated to Ayrton Senna. Museum visitors could experience the thrill of driving on the Monza track behind the wheel of the Fiat Turbina and Alfa Romeo Disco Volante, two cars available as digital twins in Roarington.
In October, the TCCT Forum at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart marked a significant milestone with the announcement of the creation of the digital museum for the House of the Star within Roarington. This partnership further strengthens the leadership of Stuttgart's magnificent museum, giving the entire world the opportunity to visit it and discover its most famous cars in a digital reality. All this was under the watchful eyes of Kimi Räikkönen, Roarington's new ambassador, ready to bring his technical expertise and World Champion experience to support the growth and innovation of this new virtual world.
And this is just the beginning. 2025 promises to be full of news and events, which we will announce to keep you close. Happy holidays and a Happy New Year from the Roarington team!
