The first BMW Series 6, version E24, is one of the most beautiful cars ever produced by BMW in all of its history. Its graceful lines that were aggressive in all the right places were crafted by the French designer Paul Bracq, lured away from Mercedes-Benz where he had designed the Pagoda at the helm of its design studio during the 70s. The series of cars designed by Bracq, Series 3 E21 (1975-1983), Series 5 E28 (1981-1988), Series 7 E23 (1977-1987) are widely regarded as the cars that allowed BMW to make the definitive transition to a premium brand.
