Company

The Victress Manufacturing Company was founded in California in 1952. The company’s first car, the Victress S1A was introduced in 1954 and was designed by Hugh Jorgensen.

History

The Victress Manufacturing Company was founded in 1952 by Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, a pioneer of custom car culture. The company specialized in high-performance fiberglass body components, and was credited with introducing the first aftermarket fiberglass car body to the automotive aftermarket. The company was known for its innovations in car design, and was a major influence on the custom car and hot rod culture of the 1950s and 1960s. Victress products were featured in many magazines, and the company sponsored car shows and drag races. In the 1960s, Victress also produced fiberglass bodies for a variety of slot cars, including the famous Victress S-4. The company went out of business in the late 1970s.
