Marmon Motor Company was an American automobile manufacturer founded by Howard Carpenter Marmon. As soon as the company started developing and producing automobiles in 1902, Marmon quickly earned a reputation for their speedy, upscale, and reliable cars. The Marmon Wasp was perhaps the most famous car made by the company as it was the first winner of the first ever Indianapolis 500 motor race, in 1911, and is also the first automobile to utilize a rearview mirror.
