Company

Intermeccanica is an automotive company that originally made tuning kits and later produced a range of sports cars. It was founded in 1959 and started by making a Formula Junior single-seater car with a Peugeot engine. Later, it produced a range of cars with American V8 engines, including the Apollo GT and the Italia, a larger GT sports car. The company also made replicas of classic cars such as the Porsche 356 Speedster and Checker Taxi, and relocated to Santa Ana, California in 1975. The company is now based in Vancouver and continues to manufacture replica cars, including the Roadster, a replica of the 1959 Porsche 356 convertible, and a replica of the 1940 World War 2 Volkswagen Kubelwagen "Type 82".
