The frontman of the band Jamiroquai called Jay Kay has made no secret of his passion for cars since the early days of his 30 million album-selling career. In an interview with the Sunday Times, he recounts that at the age of 21, the inability to take out an insurance policy for a modern car got him interested in classic cars and led to the purchase of a white BMW 1602. It was the beginning of a love affair that would eventually result in a collection of more than 100 cars, with him buying and selling them according to his preferences.

Jay Kay's preferred brands include Aston Martin, Mercedes and Porsche. His personal favourite, however, is the prancing horse brand, of which he has owned several models such as the F40, F50, Enzo Ferrari and the Kermit Green LaFerrari throughout the years. Definitely the most exclusive, however, is the 1968 330 GT Vignale Shooting Brake, a unique model designed by Luigi Chinetti and Robert Peak.
Jay Kay is a big fan of the Prancing Horse. On the occasion of Ferrari's 70th birthday party in 2017, he gave a concert for guests on the Fiorano track.
Another beloved manufacturer of the singer is Lamborghini, with two stunning models appearing in the 1996 video clips of two of his biggest hits. A Miura SV starring in the video for "Alright" and a Lamborghini Diablo SE 30 in purple pyxis metallic in the song "Cosmic Girl", which was heavily damaged during production, to the point that Jay Kay had to buy an identical one to complete the shoot.
Since the early days, the Jamiroquai frontman has never hidden his passion. Many of his cars have appeared in video clips of the band's hits, such as the Lamborghini Diablo SE 30 featured in "Cosmic Girl".
After a long break, Jamiroquai returned in 2017 with the hit "Cloud 9" accompanied by a video clip featuring a Ferrari 275 GTB and a Mercedes 280 SE. The collection is run independently by Jay Kay, who regularly uses his cars both privately and at events such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed. A true enthusiast!
