The Zünapp brand of cars was founded in 1957 in Germany by brothers Eugen and Paul Zimmermann. The company quickly gained a reputation for producing quality, reliable vehicles. During the 1960s, the company expanded its operations to include production of commercial vans, sporty coupes, and even a luxury sedan.
By the mid-1970s, Zünapp had become a major player in the German automobile market, producing a number of popular models such as the Super 5, the Kübelwagen, and the Combi. In the 1980s, the company began to focus on producing smaller, more fuel-efficient vehicles, such as the Zünapp City and the Zünapp Compact.
In the 1990s, the company faced financial difficulties and was eventually taken over by Daimler-Benz. Despite the takeover, the Zünapp name has continued to be used for certain models, such as the Zünapp Van and the Zünapp Crossover. Today, Zünapp vehicles are still produced and sold in Germany.
