Company

Wolseley is a British automobile brand that has been around since 1901. The brand was initially owned by Vickers and later taken over by the Morris Motor Company in 1927. It was initially known for its production of luxury cars, but by the mid-1930s it had shifted its focus to the mass production of cars for the family market.

History

Wolseley was known for producing high-quality, reliable cars that were designed for comfort and convenience. Many of the cars produced during this period, such as the Wolseley Hornet, are still highly sought after by collectors today. The brand was eventually sold by Austin in 1968 to the British Leyland Motor Corporation, and the Wolseley brand was phased out in 1975 in favor of other brands in the British Leyland stable. Despite this, the Wolseley name still carries a great deal of respect in the automotive world and is still associated with quality and reliability.
