History

Sizaire Freres was a French car maker that was founded in 1901 by the brothers Georges and Maurice Sizaire. The brothers had previously been involved in the engineering and aircraft industry and in 1899 they opened the Sizaire-Berwick factory in Billancourt, Paris. The company started out producing a range of cars ranging from two to four-cylinder models. The company's first success came in 1905 when it won the Grand Prix de l'Automobile Club de France. This was followed by a number of other successes at various races and rallies. In 1913, the company moved to Levallois-Perret and began production of a new model called the Sizaire Naudin. This car was powered by a four-cylinder engine and featured a number of innovative features such as independent suspension and a three-speed gearbox. By the 1920s, the company had become one of the most popular car makers in France and it continued to produce cars until the early 1930s. During this period, the company produced a range of models including the Sizaire Berwick, the Sizaire Naudin, the Sizaire Naudin S and the Sizaire Berliet.
