Lozier Motor Company was a luxury automobile producer in the United States from 1900 to 1918. Founded by Henry Abram Lozier, the company was known for producing some of the most expensive cars in the country. In 1910, the company moved to Detroit and in 1911, a Lozier car finished second in the Indianapolis 500. The company faced new pressures as more manufacturers entered the luxury market, and a brain drain occurred when Frederick C. Chandler, Lozier's top designer, left the company to form Chandler Motor Company. Lozier attempted to expand into the mid-priced car market but after a failed merger with Ford, declared bankruptcy in 1915. Production continued sporadically up to 1918.
