Italdesign Giugiaro S.p.A. is an Italian design and engineering company that was founded in 1968 by Giorgetto Giugiaro and Aldo Mantovani. The company is based in Moncalieri, Italy, and is best known for its automobile design work. In addition to designing cars, Italdesign also provides a range of other services, including product design, project management, engineering, prototyping, and testing. As of 2010, the company employed 800 people. In 2010, Volkswagen Group subsidiary Audi's subsidiary Lamborghini acquired 90.1% of the shares of Italdesign Giugiaro S.p.A. This included the brand name rights and patents. The remaining shares were later sold to Audi in 2015, and Giorgetto Giugiaro resigned from the company at the same time.
