Company

Gordini is a division of Renault Sport Technologies, which was originally a sports car manufacturer and performance tuner founded in 1946 by Amédée Gordini, also known as "Le Sorcier" (The Sorcerer). The company specialized in modifying and tuning small cars, such as the Renault 4CV and the Renault Dauphine, for motorsport competitions. Gordini gained a reputation for creating high-performance engines and innovative racing technology.

History

In 1968, Gordini became a division of Renault, and the company's focus shifted to designing and producing sporty versions of Renault production models. Gordini models were known for their distinctive blue paintwork with white stripes, as well as their improved engines, suspension, and handling.

In 1976, Gordini became a division of Renault Sport, which focuses on developing and producing high-performance vehicles for motorsport and for the general public. Today, the Gordini division of Renault Sport Technologies continues to develop performance parts and accessories for Renault vehicles, as well as producing limited-edition sporty versions of Renault models, such as the Renault Twingo Gordini RS.
