History

Galpin Auto Sports (GAS) is a custom car and automobile repair shop located in Van Nuys, California, USA. Founded in 1946 by Frank Galpin and later purchased by Bert Boeckmann, the shop specializes in customizing and remodeling vehicles specifically for their drivers. They also offer specialty parts and accessories. GAS gained popularity after being featured on MTV's "Pimp My Ride" hosted by Xzibit, where they customized cars for the show's participants. GAS also appeared on the television show "Knight Rider" where they were asked to create the star of the show, a new version of the 2008 Ford Mustang called the GT500KR. The shop has an extensive array of customized cars on-site which can be bought directly from the garage. GAS's custom-designed vehicles have won national attention and awards.
