Following Bennett's death in 1978, the company was bought by a consortium of Scottish racing drivers/enthusiasts and continued to produce spare parts for the range of Chevron cars as well as designing and building new Sports 2000 and Formula Atlantic models. In 1983, all assets of this company were purchased by Roger Andreason and Tim Colman for Chevron Cars Ltd. From 1983 until 2006, Chevron Cars Limited produced over 100 new cars for Formula Ford, Formula Ford 2000, Sports 2000, and Group C categories. In 2006, Chris Smith purchased a majority shareholding in Chevron Cars Limited and oversaw the construction of around 10 "continuation" B8 and B16 models all manufactured from the original drawings, body moulds, jigs, and patterns. In July 2011, Roger Andreason and Tim Colman bought back Chris Smith's shareholding, and Roger was re-appointed as Managing Director of Chevron Cars Limited. In December 2012, Chevron Cars Limited was split into 2 separate Limited Companies, with Chevron Heritage Limited now building new continuation cars and offering restoration, chassis rebuilds, and supplying genuine Chevron spare parts. Chevron Cars Limited in Crewe builds current specification Chevron GT, GT3, and GT4 cars. The company has no connection with any companies operated by Vin and Helen Malkie.
