The question of Concorsi d'Eleganza is now firmly on the agenda: should the format change? What might be done?
The answer is straightforward. Not all Concorsi can or should be considered alike. The great events — Villa d'Este, Pebble Beach, the Cavallino Classic — are fine as they are, because they uphold a tradition built on rigour and refined conviviality. To be there is wonderful, for the cars and for the people who attend, whether collectors or enthusiasts.
Then there are the others — events that must, to varying degrees, find new ideas in order to give a gathering of enthusiasts the particular character it deserves.
