Generous England, Suffering Historics
Of 183 cars offered at Windsorview Lake on 18 July 2026, only 102 sold — a 55.74% sell-through rate and £2.5m result against a £6.1m estimate.

Auctions, like all things, can run into unfortunate surprises. The case of Historics and its team of proven experience and quality, which organised – months in advance and with the utmost precision – a sale at Windsorview Lake on 18 July, confirms as much: on that very same day, the World Cup fixture schedule placed the auction in direct competition with the third-place playoff between England and France.
Of 183 cars offered, only 102 were sold, a success rate of 55.74% – the worst figure across all five editions of this event.
In terms of value, the estimate had seemed inviting, with a well-pitched £6,119,000 on offer; yet between the low sell-through rate and the weak demand for lots above £100,000, the result of £2,536,390 represents barely 42% of the pre-sale estimate.
