What Happens When Automotive Heritage Meets Gaming?
Cologne, 1955, and a gullwing’s cockpit – brought back through simulation where a new generation first takes the wheel.

Mercedes-Benz is celebrating 140 years since the invention of the automobile in a place Carl Benz could hardly have imagined: at gamescom, the world’s largest gaming event. Amid the latest cars, games and digital entertainment, visitors can also experience part of that history from behind the wheel – an encounter between two worlds that have more in common than might first appear.
Gaming may not be the first association that comes to mind when thinking about automotive heritage. Yet digital worlds, simulation and interactive entertainment have become increasingly relevant to the automotive industry – and part of how millions of people experience cars today.
At gamescom, Mercedes-Benz is the main partner of the GameStar FYNG City, bringing together cars, gaming, technology, entertainment and community. The brand’s history is part of the experience too: as a partner of Mercedes-Benz Heritage, Roarington contributes its high-end Classic Racing Simulator Experience, connecting automobiles that shaped the past with technologies that can make their fascination accessible today.
