If last week saw America kick off the new auction season, it is only fitting that the second half moves to Europe, where in the final week of January Paris will host no fewer than four auctions converging to compete at the highest level during and around Retromobile.

Chronologically, the first sale we encounter is Artcurial’s, which this year leaves its traditional venue to relocate to the prestigious Peninsula Hotel, near the Arc de Triomphe and just a few hundred meters from Artcurial’s historic headquarters. Coincidentally, for the jet set of the collecting world, the Peninsula will also host the Best of the Best 2025 awards ceremony the day before.

To attract attention, the French auction house has unveiled just a single preview lot—though one of exceptional caliber. It is the 1992 Ferrari F92A raced by Jean Alesi during his years as an official Scuderia Ferrari driver. Once its competitive career ended, the car was given to the French ace, who has kept it ever since at his villa in Avignon. The single-seater carries an estimate of over €3 million.
