Before the 24 Hours begins, Le Mans itself becomes the spectacle — handprints on the pavement, Hypercars in the streets, a city surrendered to ritual.

How many people in the world, hearing the name Le Mans, would think of a small French town in the Sarthe? If we say none, we are probably right: Le Mans is the 24 Hours, the most coveted and celebrated race.

And yet today we want to tell you how important this town is for those who come to watch. Throughout the entire week leading up to the race, shop windows fill with miniatures, historic posters and references to the event, restaurants display dedicated menus, and bars fill with fans arrived from every corner of the world. It is as though the entire city voluntarily agrees to suspend normality, transforming itself into the greatest automotive gathering on the planet — a kind of Woodstock of motorsport that extends well beyond the boundaries of the circuit.

Le Mans - 1
For one week each year, Le Mans ceases to be a quiet French city and changes its face entirely: shop windows fill with references to the race and the centre fills with fans from all over Europe, ready to witness the 24 Hours.
