Inside the World's Greatest Classic Car Collections – Part 10: Lawrence Auriana
Dante, Maserati, and Ferrari — Lawrence Auriana's Italian soul, housed in a Divine Comedy estate an hour from New York.

Born in America to Italian parents, a major figure in the world of finance, and a collector ranked among the most important in the world, Lawrence Auriana shares a deep and intense bond with his country of origin: Italy. As President of the Columbus Citizens Foundation, he felt a special emotion when the Regional Council of Lombardy bestowed upon him, in 2024, the prestigious "Anello Sigillo Longobardo" — an honour he considers comparable in personal significance to the triumphs his magnificent collector cars have achieved at major international events.

Well into his later years, he refuses to stay on the sidelines when his precious cars take to the show circuit. In 2026 he travelled to Rome, where his magnificent and one-of-a-kind 1931 Maserati 16 Cilindri, the V4, took Best of Show at the prestigious Anantara Concorso d'Eleganza. From there he moved on to Monaco to witness the victory of his 1965 Ferrari 1512 Formula 1 car — that magnificent 1500 cc V12 which contributed to John Surtees's World Championship — driven in the Grand Prix Historique by his trusted Collection curator, Jo Colasacco.
