Heat hit hard: auction sales sank, but beach cars shined—highlight was a €107K amphibious Iveco, while top classics mostly went unsold.

On the last weekend of June, France was hit by record-breaking heat, and perhaps due to most of the cars being displayed outdoors (not easy to inspect an engine at 42°C!), the result was disappointing. The number of cars offered dropped from 98 in 2024 to 88, and the sale rate collapsed from over 67% in 2024 to just 43.18% — that’s 38 cars sold, far from the 66 sold last year. Cars with no reserve helped cushion the blow: if we consider only the cars with reserve prices, the success rate would drop to a mere 25%.

This all impacted total sales. Even though fewer cars were offered, the total of the low estimates actually rose from €18,123,000 to €19,360,000. But the results didn’t add up. A year ago, turnover reached €10,865,342 (60% of the total estimate), but this year it barely reached half of that: €4,839,088.
