Our journey continues with the most accessible cars for experiencing the 1000 Miglia as true protagonists. After the first ten selections last week - covering the years from the origins to the immediate postwar period - we now move into the heart of the 1950s. It was a time when the automotive world was changing rapidly, yet the spirit of the Freccia Rossa remained unchanged. Sedans, evolved economy cars, and new interpretations of sporting touring entered the race, still offering today an attainable way to step into history. This is the second group of ten cars, though many others could appear at auction or through specialist dealers. It should be remembered that, among affordable cars, the organizers give priority to models that actually competed in the race at the time and still exist today.

__1953 Jaguar MkVII__

An imposing sedan, closer to the world of grand touring than racing - and precisely for this reason fascinating on the roads of the Mille Miglia. The official register certifies its presence in the 1953 edition, in the category for cars over 2,000 cc, with its 3.4-liter engine and top speeds above 160 km/h: a true “great British car”, also capable of winning the Monte Carlo Rally. Smooth driving, a sumptuous cabin - the Mk VII is for those who want to tackle the race with class and comfort, without giving up historical weight.
