The Christmas holidays with our beloved classic cars still safely hibernating in garages are ending, and it’s already time to plan for 2025’s events. As always, the year kicks off in Florida with the unmissable Mecum auction in Kissimmee from January 7 to 19, featuring two weeks of auctions with over 4,000 vehicles. The highlight is undoubtedly the Porsche 917K driven by Steve McQueen in the 1971 film Le Mans.

From January 23 to 26, also in Florida, the Cavallino Classic in Palm Beach will return for its 34th edition. One of the world’s most exclusive Concours d’Elegance events will showcase rare Ferrari models. This year celebrates 50 years of the 308 GTB and the 30 years of the F50.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum announced the sale of 11 treasures from its collection in 2025. First up is the Mercedes-Benz W 196 R Streamliner, auctioned on February 1 in Indiana. This model, driven to victory by Juan Manuel Fangio at the 1955 Argentine GP and later achieving the fastest lap at the Italian GP with Stirling Moss, is expected to fetch over €50 million.

On February 3 at the Peninsula Hotel in Paris, the Best of the Best 2024 will be crowned. Winners of major 2024 Concours d’Elegance events, such as Pebble Beach and Villa d’Este, will compete for the title. Who will succeed the 1935 Duesenberg Model SJ Speedster, Best of Show 2023?

RM Sotheby’s will offer the Ferrari 250 LM from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum on February 4-5 in Paris, preceding Retromobile. Chassis #5893, which won the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans with Masten Gregory and Jochen Rindt, has an estimated value exceeding €25 million.

For snow and mountain lovers, The I.C.E. Concours d’Elegance returns to St. Moritz from February 21-22. After last year’s cancellation due to heavy snow, the 2025 edition promises a grand comeback, with exhibitions and driving sessions on the frozen lake creating a breathtaking scene.

From March 6 to 9, Amelia Island in Florida hosts its annual Concours d’Elegance. More than just an elegance competition, the event features Broad Arrow Auctions and showcases 35 classes of vehicles at the Ritz-Carlton and Golf Club.

Action returns to the Goodwood Motor Circuit on April 12-13 with the 82nd Members’ Meeting. Its roots date back to 1948 when the 9th Duke of Richmond opened the circuit for British Automobile Racing Club members, a tradition carried on by Lord March.
